In the October 3, 2020 blog entry I shared our pasture preparation and plan for a Spring 2021 Frost Seeding. Well folks, it’s time. It is March in Wisconsin, when temps start to rise, snow starts to slowly melt and the freeze/thaw cycle makes it prime time for some frost seeding.
Unfortunately, the first 2 weeks of March warmed really quickly and the snow we wanted our seeds to land on was gone, POOF!
Then, in the wee hours on March 15, a little over 2 inches of snow fell. Yeeeeeeees!
Up at the crack of dawn, hand broadcast spreader and seeds ready to roll, away we went.
We frost seeded 2 of our 4 pastures, seeding just over an acre.
And now, we wait.
