It was another fun and fabulous season at Timeless Acres Roadside Egg Stand.
The reduction of daylight hours means a reduction in egg laying and sadly, this past weekend was our last egg sales for the season.
Despite the additional chicks we added to our flock last year, we still found ourselves running low on eggs at times this season. So, to plan ahead for next year, we added 7 more chicks at the end of August from our most favorite and only hatchery, Meyer Hatchery. This order was a combination of Dominiques and Buff Orpingtons who are doing great and will be ready to join the big girl flock by the end of November.
And a big Shout Out to all of our eggsta-special customers for supporting local, humanely raised, heritage breed chickens.
Fun Fact: The color of an egg depends on the chicken’s earlobes. Red ear lobed chickens lay brown eggs, while white ear lobed chickens lay white eggs.
